House rules & practical info
Inspired by Swedish outdoor life, we built our tiny house and named it Skog Lodge — Swedish for "forest". We made everything inside ourselves; we started in December 2025 and completed the brand-new cabin in May 2026. We hope you have a wonderful time! Below you'll find a few guidelines so everything is clear during your stay. Anything unclear? Feel free to send a message via Airbnb or to +31 6 27295690.
General
- We're really happy and proud of our cabin. We hope you feel at home and treat the furniture and contents with care.
- Please don't move the indoor furniture outside.
- Smoking is not allowed inside; smoking outside is fine.
- Dogs are not allowed.
- We built this cabin to be as sustainable as possible — help us by using electricity and water sparingly. The park is limited to 16 amps, so don't switch on too many appliances at once and don't use the air conditioning or underfloor heating unnecessarily.
Checking in
- Before 17:00 you check in at the reception of De Reeënwissel. After 17:00, use the key safe at the back of the cabin (between the drainpipe and the wooden posts)
- Checked in via the key safe? Please still drop by reception the next day. There's also a welcome booklet in the mailbox there, filed under the first letter of your surname.
- There is 1 parking space by the cabin, parallel to the front.
- For urgent questions outside opening hours, call the emergency centre via the intercom.
Park facilities
- The outdoor pool is free for guests; collect wristbands at reception. Open: weekdays 13:00–17:00 and 18:30–20:30, weekends 13:00–17:00.
- Brasserie and snack bar behind reception, Mon–Sun from 11:00–20:00.
- The Belevingspad nature trail and the Drents-Friese Wold are always accessible from the park.
- There are 3 charging points for electric cars opposite reception.
- Bike rental is available through Fietsverhuur Het Drentse Wold, across the Bosweg.
Appliances
- The TV has streaming services. The remote is in the basket of the TV cabinet; press the blue "smart" button and log in to your own account. An HDMI cable hangs behind the TV.
- Oven: click "Convection", set the temperature and then the time.
- Microwave: choose "Microwave" and set the temperature and time. Extra settings are on the inside of the door.
- Air conditioning: remote in the basket of the TV cabinet. It both cools and heats via the "modes" button.
- Underfloor heating is available in the living room/kitchen (thermostat behind the curtains next to the vacuum cleaner) and in the bathroom (above the sink).
Inventory
- You'll find a high chair and travel cot for babies and toddlers under the bunk bed. The instructions are in the basket of the TV cabinet.
- We use LED candles and lamps. Chargers and batteries are in the basket of the TV cabinet (including a battery charger, see the little box).
- The parasol and outdoor cushions are in the garden chest on the side; the key is in the cutlery drawer. Please put them back when you leave.
- There is an electric fly swatter and a dustpan & brush; these are next to the bin under the sink.
Safety & damage
- In case of emergency: first call 112, get everyone to safety and then let us know.
- The fire extinguisher is between the vacuum cleaner and the curtains; a fire blanket is in the cupboard above the extractor hood.
- Please report lost keys immediately.
- Close all doors and windows when you leave the property.
- Something broken? Report it straight away so we can replace it on a changeover day or find a solution together.
- Bedroom windows not closing properly? Press and hold the little latch on the side (near the handle), turn the handle horizontal, release and push the window shut.
Waste & cleaning
- The property is cleaned before your arrival and the beds are made with fresh linen.
- The bin is under the sink and pulls out.
- You'll find bin bags in the cupboard above the extractor hood and next to the bin; cleaning products are next to the bin under the sink.
- Waste, cardboard and glass can be disposed of in the containers by the barrier, opposite reception.
- After showering, please wipe down the glass door with the squeegee to prevent limescale.
Checking out
- Check-out is by 12:00 at the latest.
- Drop off the rubbish at the containers by reception.
- Check that all windows and doors are closed.
- Leave the dishwasher empty and clean.
- Fold up the parasol, store the outdoor cushions in the garden chest and put the keys back in the cutlery drawer.
- When locking up: first push the door handle all the way up (the last bit with a little more force) and then turn the key fully.
